Get a Treatment Plan Before Booking Your Trip
One of the most important parts of planning dental treatment abroad happens before you purchase a plane ticket.
At Dental Tourism Colombia, the process begins with a free online consultation.
We ask you to submit five clear photos of your teeth. If you already have recent dental X-rays or an existing treatment plan, you can upload those as well.
The information helps us evaluate your case and determine which treatment may be appropriate before you make travel arrangements.
However, an online evaluation does not replace an in-person dental examination. Your final treatment plan is confirmed after your dentist examines your teeth in Colombia.

How Long Should You Stay Abroad for Veneers?
Your required stay depends primarily on the veneer material and the complexity of your treatment.
Porcelain veneers typically require approximately 4–6 days in Colombia.
The process generally involves consultation and planning, tooth preparation when necessary, impressions or digital scans, fabrication by the dental laboratory, try-in and adjustments, and final bonding.
Composite veneers can typically be completed in 1–2 days because the material is applied and shaped directly on the teeth rather than fabricated by a laboratory.
Additional dental work can extend your treatment schedule. For example, untreated cavities, gum problems, root canal treatment, extractions or other restorative needs may need to be addressed before veneers are completed.
For this reason, avoid booking an extremely tight return flight that leaves no flexibility for treatment adjustments.
Should You Get Porcelain or Composite Veneers Abroad?
Both materials can produce attractive results, but they have different advantages.
Porcelain veneers generally offer greater stain resistance, durability and natural translucency. They require laboratory fabrication and typically involve a longer treatment process.
Composite veneers are applied directly to the teeth and can often be completed more quickly with little or no enamel preparation. They are also generally less expensive and easier to repair, but they are more susceptible to staining, wear and chipping over time.

How Much Do Veneers Abroad Cost?

What Other Costs Should You Budget For?
When comparing the cost of getting veneers abroad with treatment at home, consider the entire trip rather than the dental bill alone.
Your budget may include airfare, accommodations, meals, local transportation, travel insurance and time away from work.
It is also sensible to maintain some financial flexibility in case your dentist discovers additional treatment needs after examining you.

What Happens When You Arrive in Colombia?
Your first dental appointment includes an in-person examination and confirmation of your treatment plan.
Your dentist evaluates your teeth, gums, bite, existing dental work and overall oral health. This is also the opportunity to discuss tooth shape, size, shade and the type of result you want.
If porcelain veneers are appropriate, any necessary preparation is performed before impressions or digital scans are sent for fabrication. Temporary restorations may be used when appropriate while your final veneers are being made.
Once the porcelain veneers are ready, your dentist evaluates their fit, appearance and bite before final bonding.
Adjustments may be made during this stage. You should not feel pressured to approve a result that you have not had an opportunity to evaluate.
Composite veneers follow a different process because the dentist applies and shapes the material directly on your teeth.
Can You Enjoy Your Trip While Getting Veneers?

What Happens After You Return Home?
Good veneer care does not end when your trip does.
Continue routine dental examinations and cleanings with your local dentist and maintain good brushing and flossing habits.
Avoid using veneered teeth to bite extremely hard objects or as tools. If you grind or clench your teeth, your dentist may recommend a nightguard to protect the restorations.
If something feels wrong after returning home, contact your treatment team rather than waiting for the problem to become worse.
Dental Tourism Colombia provides an industry-standard one-year warranty on porcelain work, assuming the teeth are cared for properly. The warranty is intended to ensure that the porcelain work was properly manufactured and installed. In the rare case of a covered problem, the work will be redone without charge.
The warranty does not cover return airfare or hotel expenses, does not reimburse treatment performed by another dentist, and does not apply to composite veneers.
What Should You Ask Before Booking Your Flights?
Before committing to treatment abroad, you should be able to answer several basic questions:
Who is my dentist? What treatment is being recommended? Why is it appropriate for my teeth? Which material will be used? How many veneers are planned? How long should I stay? What happens if the treatment plan changes? What follow-up support is available after I return home?
